What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying how sleep patterns after traumatic brain injury (TBI) may affect recovery and clinical outcomes. This research focuses on patients aged 18 to 60 with mild to moderate TBI, aiming to better understand the connection between sleep and prognosis. Previous studies have had limitations due to varying designs, patient ages, trauma severity, and reliance on self-reported sleep data, which can be biased or inaccurate. This study uses wearable devices to monitor sleep patterns objectively in patients who have a clear diagnosis of traumatic brain injury with a Glasgow score above 8 and abnormal imaging scans. Participants must not have had sleep problems before their injury. The research excludes those with prior TBIs, mental illness, alcohol abuse, sleep disorders, recent surgery, other severe injuries, pregnancy, lactation, or use of sleep-affecting medications. Participants will be assessed on changes in their cognitive and executive functions from the first day to the 30th day after injury. Researchers will gather complete clinical data and monitor sleep using wearable technology to observe how sleep impacts recovery. The study involves detailed follow-up and evaluation over this 30-day period to measure outcomes accurately and safely.
