What this Trial Is About
This is a feasibility study intervention to fifty cancer patients with obesity and with newly diagnosed stage II-IV solid tumors undergoing curative treatment recruited at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO) in L'Hospitalet, Spain. The investigators hypothesize that weight management during cancer treatment could enhance health outcomes for this population. The feasibility of a multimodal weight loss management program will be assesses, including a personalized hypocaloric and high-protein diet combined with a supervised exercise home-program and behavioural support.

Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adult (age 18+) with confirmed malignant solid tumors, stage II-IV, planned for curative chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or both
- Expected cancer treatment duration of 3 months or more
- Body mass index (BMI) of 30 kg/m² or higher
- Resident in the Barcelona area until cancer treatment completion
- ECOG Performance Status of 0 or 1
- Access to the internet
You will not qualify if you...
- Diagnosis of melanoma or brain tumors
- Surgery as the only cancer treatment
- Tumor in areas with high risk of malnutrition (head and neck, upper gastrointestinal tract, or pancreas)
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Having another active cancer
- Health conditions affecting weight status (e.g., untreated thyroid disorders)
- Medical conditions preventing unsupervised exercise (e.g., severe orthopedic issues, recent heart problems, dementia)
- Unable to read or understand Spanish or Catalan
- Currently enrolled in another weight loss program
- Active suicidal thoughts or eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating)
- Current substance abuse except nicotine
- Use of pacemaker or electrical implanted devices
- History of or planned bariatric or LapBand surgery
- Any other medical or psychological condition that could affect safety or study compliance
