Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adult patients with an IBS diagnosis meeting Rome IV criteria
- Fluent in English
- Access to a phone for study sessions
You will not qualify if you...
- Presence of inflammatory bowel disease or other primary gastrointestinal illnesses explaining symptoms
- Current severe psychiatric illness including manic episode, psychosis, or active substance use disorder
- Cognitive impairment based on a six-item cognitive screen
- Presence of atrial fibrillation, cardiac pacemaker, or daily use of beta blocker medication
- Plans to start or join another behavioral health intervention or psychotherapy during the study
