Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Adult patients with an IBS diagnosis meeting Rome IV criteria
  • Fluent in English
  • Access to a phone for study sessions
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Presence of inflammatory bowel disease or other primary gastrointestinal illnesses explaining symptoms
  • Current severe psychiatric illness including manic episode, psychosis, or active substance use disorder
  • Cognitive impairment based on a six-item cognitive screen
  • Presence of atrial fibrillation, cardiac pacemaker, or daily use of beta blocker medication
  • Plans to start or join another behavioral health intervention or psychotherapy during the study
