Cancer affects millions worldwide and can greatly impact survival and daily quality of life. Treatments like surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation may cause side effects such as fatigue, pain, and neuropathy, which influence physical functioning, emotional health, and social interactions. Researchers are working to better understand the full impact of cancer and its treatments on patients' lives by developing a patient-centered quality of life (QOL) survey tailored for individuals with cancer. This study focuses on creating and using a specialized QOL survey that captures what matters most to cancer patients by directly involving them in sharing their experiences. It plans to observe patients diagnosed with primary cancer within the past 6 months and will analyze differences in quality of life among groups based on race, ethnicity, and gender. The study is observational and does not involve experimental treatments. Participants will be followed over time with assessments at baseline, 6, 12, 18, and 24 months to evaluate quality of life differences. They will complete questionnaires reflecting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. The study aims to provide insights to help patients, families, and healthcare providers better address needs and improve supportive care throughout the cancer journey. Participation involves signing informed consent and completing quality of life surveys over two years.
