Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Able and willing to follow study procedures and sign informed consent
- Between 20 and 50 years of age at consent
- In good physical and mental health based on medical history and tests
- Body mass index (BMI) between 27 and 29.9 kg/m2
- Desire to lose weight
You will not qualify if you...
- Medical conditions like diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiovascular disease, thyroid disease, asthma, arthritis, or inflammatory conditions
- Fasting blood sugar over 125 mg/dL or total cholesterol 240 mg/dL or higher
- Blood pressure below 90/140 mm Hg (diastolic/systolic)
- Taking medications or supplements affecting weight or lipids within 2 months before or during the study
- Allergy or sensitivity to components of the study product
- Change in hormonal contraception or hormone replacement therapy during or within 3 months before the study (if female)
- Pregnant women or those planning pregnancy during the study
- Use of dietary supplements other than minerals like calcium or magnesium
- Participation in weight loss programs or weight changes over 4.5 kg in the last 9 months
- History of eating disorders such as bulimia, anorexia nervosa, or binge eating
- Exercising aerobically more than 4 times or 2.5 hours per week
- Vegan lifestyle
- Current smoking or nicotine use or quitting within 1 year
- Gastrointestinal diseases like colitis, ulcers, Crohn's disease, peptic ulcers, or celiac disease
