Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Children with PBB diagnosis according to case definition
  • Consent form signed by parents or legal guardians
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Comorbidities such as HIV, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or diabetes
  • Serious illnesses like meningitis, pneumonia, bacteremia, or empyema in the previous three months
  • Chronic respiratory conditions at enrollment (non-PBB bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis, allergy, etc.)
  • Having received mechanical ventilation
  • Hospitalization or antibiotic use in the previous three months at enrollment
