Training Using the ARCS Motivation Model to Improve Communication Skills, Motivation, and Self-Efficacy in First-Year Nursing Students

Researchers are evaluating the impact of a training program based on the ARCS Motivation Model on nursing students communication skills, learning motivation, and self-confidence. This study focuses on first-year nursing students who are starting their clinical practice for the first time. The ARCS model emphasizes Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction to improve learning motivation and outcomes. The study uses a randomized controlled design to compare students receiving ARCS-based training with those receiving traditional education. The study divides participants into two groups an experimental group receiving ARCS Motivation Model education and a control group receiving traditional nursing education. The ARCS-based program uses teaching materials and group activities built around its four key components. The intervention aims to enhance communication skills, motivation, and self-efficacy among nursing students. The training occurs during the students clinical practice period. Participants will be assessed one week before and two weeks after the intervention using several tools, including the Effective Communication Skills Scale, Learning Motivation Scale, and Self-Efficacy Scale. The study requires attendance at all training sessions and collects demographic information. Researchers will monitor communication abilities, motivation levels, and self-confidence changes to determine the programs effects. The study is scheduled to start in May 2025 and continues until June 2025.
