Study of Blood Cell Markers in Children with Juvenile Lupus to Understand Disease Activity and Organ Damage

Researchers are evaluating important blood-based indices in children diagnosed with juvenile systemic lupus erythematosus SLE. The study aims to understand if these hematologic markers relate to the activity of the disease and the level of chronic organ damage in these young patients. This observational study is led by Sohag University and focuses on identifying clinical correlations that might help monitor disease progression. The study involves calculating several hematologic indices such as the systemic inflammatory index, systemic inflammatory response index, and the aggregate index of systemic inflammation in children with juvenile SLE. These markers will then be compared with the SLE disease activity index and the chronic damage index to explore their relationship with disease severity and long-term damage. Participants will be evaluated during the study period of 3 to 6 months, during which researchers will measure blood markers and assess disease activity and organ damage using standard indices. The main outcomes include the calculation of hematologic indices and their correlation with disease activity and chronic damage. The study is observational, meaning no treatments are given, but careful monitoring and data collection will occur to gather meaningful clinical information.
