Researchers are investigating the nutritional status of patients with various rheumatic diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA), spondyloarthritis (SpA), systemic lupus erythematous (SLE), and systemic sclerosis (SSc). The study aims to understand how nutrition relates to disease activity in these autoimmune and systemic conditions, as nutrition can influence immunity and inflammation. The research addresses the high incidence of malnutrition in these patients and the lack of a universal standard for diagnosing nutritional deficiencies. This observational study includes patients diagnosed with the mentioned rheumatic diseases and healthy volunteers matched by age and sex as controls. Nutritional status is assessed using several established tools such as the Subjective Global Assessment (SGA), Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA), Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI), and Nutritional Risk Index (NRI). These assessments are conducted during routine clinic visits over a period spanning from January 2023 to December 2025. Participants will attend regular outpatient clinic visits where researchers will collect data on nutritional and disease activity measures, including body mass index and disease duration. Various biochemical, immunological, and functional evaluations are performed to analyze the relationship between nutrition and rheumatic disease activity. The study monitors these outcomes throughout the planned study period, contributing to a better understanding of nutrition's impact on rheumatic diseases.
