Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Over 18 years old
- Parents or legal guardians of a child with type 1 diabetes according to ADA criteria
- Diagnosis of type 1 diabetes in the child made less than 1 week ago
- Living with the child at least 40% of the time
- Adult responsible for most family meals
You will not qualify if you...
- Parents of children with other types of diabetes (type 2, MODY, gestational, or others)
- Household members with diseases affecting dietary habits (such as type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, pregnancies)
- Significant dietary changes (vegetarian, vegan, paleo, fasting, or other diets) in the month before the child's diagnosis
