Evaluating Titanium Fixation Tacs Versus Sutures for Free Gingival Graft Stabilization to Improve Gum Tissue Around Dental Implants

What this Trial Is About

This clinical trial studies patients with inadequate keratinized gingiva who need soft tissue augmentation around dental implants. It compares two methods for stabilizing free gingival grafts using titanium fixation tacs versus conventional suturing. The goal is to evaluate how these methods affect the width of keratinized gingiva after graft surgery and to determine if the new technique can improve healing and reduce surgical time. Participants will receive a free gingival graft obtained from the palate to replace missing keratinized tissue. One group will have the graft stabilized with titanium fixation tacs, while the other group will use traditional sutures. The study aims to assess differences in tissue gain and surgery duration between these two approaches. During the study, participants will be monitored over six months to measure the width of keratinized gingiva as the primary outcome. Surgery time will also be recorded as a secondary outcome. Regular clinical assessments will track graft healing, tissue adherence, and any post-operative symptoms. The overall participation duration includes the surgery and a six-month follow-up period.
