What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating the effects of smartphone addiction on posture deviations, physical fitness, and intelligence among children and adolescents aged 9 to 18 years in Egypt. The study aims to compare these effects between the two groups to better understand how smartphone use may influence their physical and cognitive health. Participants are selected based on their age, body mass index, and a minimum score on a smartphone addiction scale. The study involves applying several assessments including a physical activity questionnaire to evaluate fitness, the Raven's Progressive Matrices test to assess intelligence, and postural assessment software to examine posture deviations, particularly of the head and neck. These evaluations are conducted to compare the differences between children and adolescents with smartphone addiction. The study does not involve any treatment or intervention but observes and records data from the participants. Participants will be involved in completing questionnaires and undergoing postural and cognitive assessments over periods of 2 to 3 months to measure physical fitness and posture changes. Researchers will monitor outcomes such as physical fitness after 2 months and postural deviations after 3 months. The study is observational, with no active treatment, focusing on collecting data to understand the impact of smartphone addiction on these health aspects.
