Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetes (for diabetic gastroparesis group)
  • Have symptoms assessed by the Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptom Index (for diabetic gastroparesis group)
  • Be between 18 and 75 years old
  • Voluntarily agree to participate and sign an informed consent form
  • Have no history of diabetes (for control group)
  • Have no symptoms assessed by the Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptom Index (for control group)
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Currently taking prokinetic, anticholinergic, or dopamine drugs that may affect gastric motility
  • Have a history of gastrointestinal surgery
  • Are pregnant or planning to conceive
  • Have neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease affecting gastrointestinal function
  • Have outlet obstruction caused by organic lesions in the pylorus
