Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetes (for diabetic gastroparesis group)
- Have symptoms assessed by the Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptom Index (for diabetic gastroparesis group)
- Be between 18 and 75 years old
- Voluntarily agree to participate and sign an informed consent form
- Have no history of diabetes (for control group)
- Have no symptoms assessed by the Gastroparesis Cardinal Symptom Index (for control group)
You will not qualify if you...
- Currently taking prokinetic, anticholinergic, or dopamine drugs that may affect gastric motility
- Have a history of gastrointestinal surgery
- Are pregnant or planning to conceive
- Have neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease affecting gastrointestinal function
- Have outlet obstruction caused by organic lesions in the pylorus
