Researchers are evaluating the effects of trunk-focused rehabilitation on trunk control, spinal mobility, and hand functions in adolescents aged 12 to 18 years with cerebral palsy (CP). The study also aims to assess how this intervention affects overall functional health. This research is motivated by the need to improve postural control and reduce muscle weakness in the trunk, which can impact daily activities in young people with CP. The study compares two groups: one receiving trunk-focused rehabilitation (TFR) combined with conventional rehabilitation, and another receiving only conventional rehabilitation. The TFR involves abdominal stabilization and breathing exercises performed three days a week for 45 minutes per session over eight weeks, totaling 24 sessions. Conventional rehabilitation is provided two days a week for 40 minutes per session and includes various physical therapy exercises. Both groups receive individualized and supervised therapy designed to improve posture, muscle activity, and function. Participants will be assessed at the start and during the study for trunk control, spinal mobility, and hand function. Additional evaluations include a 1-minute walking test and a pediatric data collection tool to measure functional health. The study will monitor progress over the eight-week intervention period, with key evaluations at weeks 9 and 12. Participants' active involvement, motivation, and adherence to therapy are important aspects of the study design.
