Study of Injectable Platelet-rich Fibrin to Speed Up Orthodontic Tooth Movement in Adults Aged 18 to 26

Researchers are investigating the use of injectable platelet-rich fibrin i-PRF to potentially speed up orthodontic tooth movement, specifically focusing on the leveling and alignment of maxillary incisors. The study responds to limited evidence from previous research on PRF and orthodontic treatment time reduction. The trial aims to evaluate i-PRFs effect during comprehensive orthodontic therapy in patients with severe upper incisor irregularity. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will receive a 0.9 ml injection of i-PRF after extraction of the first premolar as part of their orthodontic treatment. The other group will undergo traditional orthodontic treatment and receive a placebo injection after the same tooth extraction. The study is single-blinded and randomized to compare these two approaches. During the study, participants will undergo orthodontic treatment with regular follow-ups over several months, where the rate of tooth leveling and alignment will be measured at one, two, and six months. Researchers will monitor changes in tooth position and overall oral health throughout the treatment period.
