Tracking Walking and Balance Recovery in Stroke Patients During Rehabilitation A Multicenter Observational Study Over Six Months

Researchers are observing how walking abilities recover during the subacute phase after a stroke, focusing on patients admitted to medical and neurological rehabilitation units. The study aims to describe the changes in gait and balance up to six months following stroke, helping to better understand recovery patterns in this critical period. Participants will undergo gait rehabilitation assessments starting within 72 hours of admission to the neurological center and then again at 1, 3, and 6 months, as well as at hospital discharge. These repeated evaluations will include various tests to measure walking and balance abilities as patients progress through rehabilitation. During the study, participants will be assessed on their walking and balance skills using tools like the Functional Ambulation Classification, Postural Assessment Scale for Stroke Patients, Timed Up and Go, 10-Meter Walk Test, 6-Minute Walk Test, and Motricity Index. These assessments occur multiple times over the six-month period to track recovery. The total participation duration may vary but includes hospital stay and follow-up up to six months after stroke.
