Who may be eligible for this colorectal cancer clinical trial?

Adults aged 18 or older with a recent diagnosis of colon or rectal adenocarcinoma and at least two living first-degree relatives may be eligible. Participants must be able to read and speak English or Spanish and have not had genetic testing in the past two years. First-degree relatives must live in the United States. Eligibility Criteria

You may qualify if you...

Adults aged 18 years or older
Newly diagnosed (within 3 months) primary colorectal adenocarcinoma, stage I to IV
Histologically confirmed colon or rectal adenocarcinoma
Patients with more than one primary colon adenocarcinoma are eligible
No stage 0 or in-situ colorectal cancer
Prior malignancies, including non-invasive cancers, allowed
Patients with synchronous second malignancies allowed
No germline testing in past 2 years or known hereditary colon cancer syndromes
At least two living first-degree relatives willing to be informed of cancer diagnosis
Ability to speak and read English or Spanish
No known dementia or cognitive impairment affecting understanding
No psychiatric or developmental disorders significantly impairing judgment
Probands positive for a pathogenic germline variant eligible for Step 2
First-degree relatives aged 18 or older
First-degree relatives must not have prior germline genetic testing
First-degree relatives must reside in the United States
First-degree relatives must be able to speak and read English or Spanish
