Study on Fathers Active Role in Caring for 4-6 Month Old Full-Term Infants and Its Effect on Infant Sensory Development

This research aims to explore how fathers involvement in caring for their infants aged 4 to 6 months relates to the infants sensory processing abilities. It addresses a gap in knowledge about the impact of fathers active participation on infant development, focusing specifically on sensory skills. The study is observational and involves healthy, full-term infants and their families to understand this relationship better. Fathers involvement will be evaluated using a specialized questionnaire that measures the level of caregiving activities by fathers. Mothers will complete the Infant Sensory Profile-2 questionnaire to assess their infants sensory processing patterns. These tools help researchers understand both the fathers participation and the infants developmental responses during the 4 to 6 month age period. Participants will be asked to complete questionnaires about the fathers involvement in caregiving and the infants sensory behaviors. The study measures include the Fathers Involvement in Infant Care Questionnaire and the Infant Sensory Profile-2. Data collection focuses on parent-reported information without any treatment interventions. The study is planned to start in May 2026 and conclude by March 2027, involving healthy infants born at full term and their families.
