What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying genetic markers in patients with diabetic ulcers to better understand the risk factors and healing differences related to these ulcers. The study aims to integrate various multi-omics data to create a risk prediction model for diabetic ulcers. By focusing on specific genetic variations and their pathways, the research seeks to identify potential new drug targets that could help promote healing and provide a foundation for personalized treatments. The study involves collecting samples of peripheral blood, ulcer tissue, and fecal matter from participants with diabetic ulcers. These samples will be analyzed using bioinformatics techniques to identify genetic markers associated with ulcer risk and healing. The research will explore these markers and their regulatory pathways to develop targeted treatment options. This is an observational study without drug or device interventions. Participants will be monitored over three years, during which researchers will assess several outcomes including ulcer healing time, changes in ulcer size, number of amputations, ulcer recurrence, wound closure time, foot infections, quality of life, and length of hospital stays. The study involves ongoing observation and data collection to understand the progression and potential treatment targets for diabetic ulcers.
