Digital Application Deneo Kid to Improve Coordination and Family-Centered Care in Pediatric Rehabilitation for Children and Young People With Neuromotor Disabilities A Mixed-Methods Usability and Impact Study

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the digital application Deneo Kid, developed in France with input from adolescents, families, rehabilitation providers, and researchers, to see if it can improve the coordination and quality of rehabilitation care for children and young people with neuromotor disabilities. The study focuses on whether the app is easy to use, acceptable, and whether it promotes more integrated, family-centered, and coordinated care, while also considering its impact on communication, relationships, and time and costs related to care coordination. The study involves 20 children and young people aged 2 to 25 years with neuromotor impairments, their parents or legal guardians, and at least two rehabilitation professionals per child. Participants will use the Deneo Kid app for three months to share information, track care goals, and communicate with their care team. The apps use, quality, and impact on care will be evaluated through surveys completed before and after the trial period. Interviews and focus groups will also gather users experiences. Throughout the study, researchers will observe app usage and collect data on usability, acceptability, integrated care, family-centered care, communication, social factors affecting adoption, and care coordination costs and time. Participants will complete questionnaires and take part in interviews or focus groups. The study lasts 12 months including enrollment, with each participant using the app for three months. The goal is to provide information that can guide future larger studies on improving pediatric rehabilitation care through digital tools.
