AI-Summary

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating how AI-based educational videos compare to traditional oral health instruction in improving denture care knowledge, patient satisfaction, and oral health-related quality of life among older adults who wear removable dentures. This study uses a two-arm, parallel-group randomized controlled trial design to assess these outcomes in adults aged 50 and older who use removable prostheses. Participants are randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group watches an approximately 8-minute AI-based video that visually demonstrates denture care steps with AI-guided narration to improve understanding and adherence. The other group receives conventional oral health education verbally from the prosthodontic team, covering denture hygiene, proper denture storage overnight, and mucosal care. Both interventions aim to help participants improve denture care practices. During the study, researchers will assess changes in oral health-related quality of life using the OHIP-14 score at baseline, immediately after the intervention, and at 1, 2, and 3 months. They will also evaluate denture care knowledge retention, patient satisfaction with the education method, and compliance with denture hygiene practices at similar intervals. Participants must complete follow-up visits to provide these assessments. The study is expected to continue until December 2025.
