What this Trial Is About

Researchers are investigating knowledge, attitudes, experiences, and practices related to dental care among patients with head and neck cancer and practicing dentists. The study evaluates whether providing targeted, guideline-based written educational materials can improve understanding and decision-making about dental care in the context of head and neck cancer treatment. This prospective survey study uses a pre-post design to measure changes before and after the educational intervention. Participants include patients with head and neck cancer and dentists in Germany. Both groups complete an initial online questionnaire that gathers demographic information and assesses their knowledge and behavior regarding dental care related to head and neck cancer. After completing this baseline survey, they receive group-specific educational materials summarizing relevant clinical guidelines. Participants then complete a second questionnaire identical to the first to evaluate the impact of the educational information. Participation is anonymous and voluntary, with no option to withdraw after submitting responses. The study collects data through a single continuous online session per participant. Researchers measure changes in knowledge and decision-making using self-administered questionnaires immediately after the intervention. The study is conducted under data protection guidelines and aims to improve dental care awareness among patients and dentists through education. The total study duration for each participant is one session during which pre- and post-assessments are completed.
