What this Trial Is About
Researchers are evaluating whether an exercise program designed with a data-driven approach can improve walking patterns in people who have had a stroke more than six months ago. The study aims to see if this personalized exercise training can enhance motor recovery, walking speed, balance, and how well individuals integrate into their communities. The research focuses on adults aged 45 to 75 years who are able to walk independently and follow instructions. Participants will take part in 12 supervised exercise sessions over six weeks, each lasting 60 minutes and held twice a week. They will be assigned to either a group receiving exercises tailored based on detailed analysis of their walking patterns and muscle activity or a group performing a standardized exercise program with similar dosage. Exercises may use equipment like TheraBand, gym machines, and free weights, and a body harness will be used for safety. The personalized program targets specific movement impairments identified by gait and electromyography analyses. Assessments will be conducted before starting the training, after six and twelve sessions, and three months after completing the training. These evaluations include measuring walking mechanics to track improvements. Participants will be closely supervised by experienced research staff throughout the study to ensure safety and proper exercise performance. The study also monitors overall motor function and community participation to understand the broader benefits of the training approach.
