Eligibility Criteria

Eligible

You may qualify if you...

  • Children between 4 and 13 years
  • Polyhandicap defined by all of the following: brain injury before age 3, severe mental deficiency (IQ < 40 or no evaluable IQ), motor impairment (para/tetraparesis, hemiparesis, ataxia, or extrapyramidal disorders), Gross Motor Function Classification System score III, IV or V, and Functional Independence Measure score < 50
  • Hospitalized in a clinical setting participating in the study
  • Beneficiary of social protection
  • Written consent signed by legal guardian or parent with authority
Not Eligible

You will not qualify if you...

  • Progressive encephalopathies including metabolic, epileptic, or neurodegenerative diseases
  • Planned move to another clinical setting
  • Expected difficulties in following up during the study
