Researchers are investigating the use of a phlebology-oriented thermal cure at the Saint-Eloy Thermal Center to treat severe chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) in the legs. CVI is a common and progressive vascular disease that affects a large portion of the French population and remains a challenge despite advances in treatment. Balneotherapy, including thermal cures, is a recognized and relatively affordable alternative therapy for CVI in France, and this study aims to evaluate its effectiveness and safety for patients with severe symptoms. The treatment involves a 3-week thermal cure with sessions six days per week, totaling 18 days and 72 treatment sessions. During this period, patients receive three medical consultations—initial, mid-course, and final—conducted by thermal doctors who tailor the treatment plan based on each patient's clinical profile. The thermal water used comes from Amnéville-les-Thermes, and the center is officially approved by the French Ministry of Health for such treatments. Participants will be evaluated for symptom relief at the start and after 3 months of treatment. The study includes a 6-month clinical follow-up to monitor patient progress. Researchers will collect data through scheduled visits and consultations to assess treatment outcomes and safety. The total participation period combines the 3-week cure and the 6 months of follow-up to fully understand the therapy's impact.
