Actively Recruiting

Healthy Volunteer

As the population ages in France, more people require help with daily activities, often provided by family members and informal caregivers. These caregivers can experience significant physical and emotional stress affecting their well-being. This research evaluates the Aidant TLC (Thrive, Learn, Connect) program, which supports caregivers in managing stress, emotions, and relationships. Although developed in the United States, this program has not been tested in France before. The Aidant TLC program consists of six weekly group sessions lasting two hours each, delivered either remotely online or in person. The study randomly assigns 75 caregivers to one of three groups: remote intervention, in-person intervention, or a control group that receives no program during the study but will be offered it afterward. The program aims to develop emotional regulation, interpersonal skills, and stress management to support informal caregivers. Participants will complete assessments at enrollment and after the 6-week program to measure depressive symptoms and self-efficacy. Additional outcomes include caregiver burden, anxiety, perceived benefits, empathy, and apathy. Attendance and acceptability of the program will also be monitored. The total study duration is 36 months, including recruitment, intervention, and data analysis phases. The results will inform whether the program can be widely offered to support caregivers, especially those with limited access to in-person services.
