Researchers are evaluating how specialized case managers trained in early psychosis care may change treatment for young people experiencing their first psychotic episode. The study focuses on patients aged 16 to 30 years and aims to reduce the recurrence rate of psychotic episodes over three years by providing personalized support. The intervention targets early intervention principles like proactive care, education about the illness and treatments, family involvement, and help with social and work reintegration. Participants receive regular and personalized follow-up from a case manager who updates care plans every three months using a "case management" approach. This intervention is designed to be accessible across the country, overcoming the challenges of creating specific services for emerging psychotic disorders. The study compares outcomes over a three-year period. During the study, patients will be closely monitored for recurrence of psychotic episodes. Researchers will assess the rate of relapse within three years to understand the impact of the case management intervention. Participants will be followed up regularly, and their progress tracked to evaluate both clinical outcomes and support effectiveness over the full study duration.
