Researchers are studying urinary incontinence (UI) in middle-aged women to understand how common it is, what factors contribute to it, and how it affects quality of life and costs. This multicenter observational study focuses on female patients, caregivers, and hospital staff at four hospitals in Northern Italy. It aims to gather detailed information on the prevalence and predictors of UI in women aged 40 to 65 years old. The study involves no treatment or intervention since it is observational. Participants include female outpatients, caregivers, and female hospital workers who meet the age and language criteria. Data collection will occur at admission points in the hospitals, including outpatient clinics, day surgery, and day hospital settings. The research team will observe and record information relevant to UI without altering participants' usual care. Participants will be asked to provide informed consent and complete assessments to collect socio-demographic, clinical, and quality of life information. The study will track the prevalence of UI among middle-aged women up to December 2025. Researchers will also analyze social impact and costs associated with UI. Participation involves answering questionnaires and providing data for evaluation throughout the study period.
