Researchers are evaluating the effectiveness of a nutritional supplement containing bergamot, artichoke, and other ingredients in lowering cholesterol levels in patients with moderate or mild hypercholesterolemia. The study aims to compare changes in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol after four months of treatment, along with assessing improvements in the overall lipid profile, changes in body measurements and vital signs, treatment adherence, safety, and patient satisfaction. Participants are divided into three groups: one group takes one capsule of the supplement each night with dinner for four months, another group takes two capsules each night with dinner for the same period, and a control group does not take the supplement but is advised to maintain a healthy lifestyle with an active life and balanced diet. All patients receive instructions to follow healthy habits according to usual clinical practice. During the study, participants will have follow-up visits at 2 and 4 months where body measurements, vital signs, and blood samples will be collected to analyze cholesterol levels and other blood parameters. Researchers will measure changes in LDL cholesterol and other lipid markers as primary outcomes. They will also monitor safety and adherence to treatment. The study plans to enroll a total of 207 patients, with 69 in each group.
