Researchers are evaluating the effects of the drug orforglipron compared with a placebo on cardiovascular outcomes in adults who have atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) and/or chronic kidney disease (CKD). This is a Phase 3, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study designed to investigate major adverse cardiovascular events over a long period. Participants will receive either orforglipron or a placebo orally. The study is event-driven and will continue until the occurrence of major cardiovascular events or up to about 5 years. The treatments are administered without revealing to participants which group they are in to ensure unbiased results. During the study, participants will be monitored for the time to the first occurrence of a major cardiovascular event. Researchers will collect data from baseline through the end of the study, which lasts approximately 5 years. Regular assessments will help evaluate the safety and effects of the treatments on cardiovascular health in this population.

Researchers are conducting a non-interventional, cross-sectional, and observational study to identify the risk of malnutrition and sarcopenia in adults aged 18 and over who visit hospital clinics in Turkey. The study focuses on outpatients attending clinics for any reason, aiming to better understand these nutrition-related risks in this population. No treatments or interventions are being tested in this study as it is observational. Participants are simply screened during their outpatient visits to assess their risk levels for malnutrition and sarcopenia without any additional procedures or therapies being administered. Participants will be involved at a single point in time where they will be screened for malnutrition and sarcopenia risks on the first day of the study. Researchers will evaluate these risks using specific screening tools, with no further follow-up or intervention planned. The study is designed to gather data during routine outpatient visits, and participation involves completing screening assessments only.
