Researchers are evaluating the effects of enicepatide, a dual GLP-1GIP receptor agonist, at multiple doses compared with placebo for weight management in adults with obesity or overweight who do not have Type 2 diabetes. This Phase III, randomized, double-blind study aims to assess both the efficacy and safety of once-weekly enicepatide in this population, addressing weight-related comorbidities such as prediabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular conditions. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either placebo or one of three enicepatide dosing regimens, administered once weekly via an integrated drug-device combination product. The treatment phase lasts through 72 weeks, during which changes in body weight and other health measures are monitored. The study includes multiple assessments to track body weight percentage change, waist circumference, fasting glucose and insulin levels, lipid profiles, blood pressure, and quality of life measures. Throughout the study, participants will undergo regular evaluations including physical examinations, laboratory tests, and questionnaires related to physical functioning and urinary incontinence. Researchers will monitor adverse events, patient-reported health questionnaires, and biomarkers at baseline and weekly intervals through week 72. This long-term follow-up allows for a comprehensive assessment of treatment effects and safety in participants managing obesity or overweight without Type 2 diabetes.

Researchers are evaluating the efficacy, safety, and tolerability of a study drug called elecoglipron compared with oral semaglutide in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus T2DM who have an increased risk of cardiovascular events. The study focuses on adults whose diabetes is not adequately controlled by lifestyle changes or stable treatment with other glucose-lowering medications. This is a phase III randomized trial sponsored by AstraZeneca, aiming to compare these two oral medications in managing T2DM and cardiovascular risk. Participants will be assigned to receive either elecoglipron or semaglutide, both administered orally once daily at specified doses. The study runs in parallel groups, with one group receiving elecoglipron and the other receiving semaglutide. Treatment and observation will continue for 52 weeks, during which the effects on blood sugar control and other health indicators will be evaluated. Throughout the 52-week study period, participants will undergo regular assessments including measurements of Hemoglobin A1c HbA1c, body weight, and blood pressure. Researchers will monitor changes from baseline to week 52 to understand the drugs impact on diabetes control and cardiovascular risk factors. The study also tracks safety and tolerability to ensure participant wellbeing during the trial.

Researchers are evaluating the safety and effectiveness of NNC0487-0111 for treating adults with excess body weight. This phase 3 clinical trial compares weekly injections of NNC0487-0111 against placebo injections, both given under the skin. Participants also follow a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity as part of the study. Participants receive subcutaneous injections once a week of either NNC0487-0111 or a placebo. The study uses a randomized, parallel design with quadruple masking to assign treatments by chance. Treatments are given alongside lifestyle changes involving diet and exercise. During the trial, participants will be monitored over 92 weeks with regular assessments including body weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood sugar markers, cholesterol levels, and quality of life questionnaires. Safety is evaluated by tracking any adverse events. The primary measurement is the relative change in body weight from week 40 to week 92. The study is sponsored by Novo Nordisk AS and runs until mid-2028.

This research aims to find out if NNC0487-0111 is safe and effective for adults with excess body weight. The study compares this medicine to a placebo in people who have a history of unsuccessful attempts to lose weight through diet. It is a phase 3 clinical trial that evaluates treatment for obesity, focusing on weight loss and related health measures. Participants receive weekly injections under the skin with either NNC0487-0111 at one of four dose levels or a placebo. These injections are given using pre-filled pen-injectors to the thigh, abdomen, or upper arm. All participants follow a reduced-calorie diet and increase physical activity during the study. The trial lasts up to 136 weeks, with treatment and follow-up periods designed to assess long-term effects. Throughout the study, participants attend regular visits where researchers measure changes in body weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, cholesterol, and quality of life scores. Safety is monitored by tracking any adverse events during and after treatment. The main outcome is the relative change in body weight from the start of the study to week 84, with continued observation up to week 136. Participants remain under medical supervision throughout the trial.

This research evaluates the effects of ribupatide KAI-9531 given as a weekly subcutaneous injection compared to a placebo. It focuses on adults living with obesity or overweight who also have weight-related health issues but do not have diabetes. The study aims to understand how ribupatide influences body weight changes over time. Participants are randomly assigned to one of several groups receiving different doses of ribupatide once weekly or a matching placebo injection once weekly. The study is double-blind, so neither participants nor researchers know who receives the drug or placebo. Dosages range from Dose 1 to Dose 4, and the treatment period lasts up to 76 weeks. During the study, participants will have their body weight and various health indicators measured, including waist circumference, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood glucose, and quality of life related to weight. Safety is monitored by tracking adverse events and immune responses to the drug. The trial spans over approximately 76 weeks, with assessments at baseline and week 76 to evaluate changes and effects.
