Researchers are evaluating an education and coaching program designed for parents of children aged 3 to 7 years with newly diagnosed autism. This program focuses on lifestyle factors and environmental changes that can be modified to potentially support the childs needs. The study is a single-arm, open-label, prospective trial conducted by the Documenting Hope Project to assess how feasible and effective this 12-month intervention is as an addition to usual clinical care for children with moderate to severe autism. The intervention consists of a parent education and health coaching program that addresses modifiable lifestyle factors and environmental adjustments. Parents receive guidance and support over a 12-month period, with the goal of helping them implement changes that may benefit their childs condition. There is no control or placebo group in this study, and all participants receive the educational coaching as part of the trial. Participants will be involved for a full year, during which they and their children will undergo several assessments. Key measures include the Autism Treatment Evaluation Checklist ATEC at baseline, six months, and 12 months. Additional evaluations include behavior assessments, sensory profiles, sleep habits, child drawing assessments, and dietary assessments, all conducted at the same intervals. The study carefully monitors progress and outcomes while parents engage in the coaching program to understand its impact on children with autism.
