Researchers are conducting the unhide Project, a long-term, non-interventional study focused on collecting detailed demographic, health, lifestyle, and symptom data from people in the United States with brain inflammation and related neuroinflammatory conditions. This study also includes "healthy" individuals without brain inflammation to create a comprehensive data repository aimed at improving understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions. Sponsored by the Brain Inflammation Collaborative, the study uses a secure digital platform originally developed by Solve M.E. and expanded for broader neuroinflammatory research. Participants aged 2 years and older will provide information remotely through the MyDataHelps app, branded as unhide for this study. Data collection includes health surveys, biometric measurements such as heart rate, sleep, and physical activity, and symptom diaries. The study will continue for 10 or more years, with data collected approximately every 4 to 12 weeks to build comprehensive longitudinal profiles. These profiles are intended to support research on disease subtypes, causes, diagnostics, and potential treatments. During the study, participants will regularly report health information and symptoms through the app, allowing researchers to track changes over time. The study includes assessments of phenotypic data, subtyping of conditions, and passive data collection methods. The goal is to accelerate research and improve outcomes for individuals affected by neuroinflammation while also identifying potential candidates for future studies. Participation involves ongoing data entry and survey completion via the digital platform, with continuous monitoring throughout the long-term follow-up period.
