Researchers are conducting the unhide Project, a long-term, non-interventional study that collects health and lifestyle data from individuals aged 2 years and older in the United States. The study focuses on people with brain inflammation and related neuroinflammatory conditions, as well as healthy individuals, aiming to better understand disease types, causes, diagnostics, and potential treatments. The Brain Inflammation Collaborative sponsors this research using a secure digital platform developed to gather comprehensive health profiles over time. Participants provide information remotely through the MyDataHelps app, branded as unhide for this study. No treatments or interventions are given as part of the study. Data collection includes self-reported health status, medical history, symptom tracking, and biometric data such as heart rate, sleep, and activity. The study follows participants for 10 or more years, with assessments occurring every 4 to 12 weeks for most measures and yearly for demographic updates. During the study, participants will regularly complete surveys and symptom diaries via the app, enabling continuous monitoring of their health and lifestyle. Researchers will analyze phenotypic data, disease subtypes, comorbidities, quality of life, and functional status over time. This extensive data collection helps identify patterns and supports future research into neuroinflammatory diseases. The study's long duration allows for ongoing observation and potential identification of candidates for future research opportunities.
