Study of Motor Imagery Ability and Its Relationship to Mobility, Walking, and Balance in Children with Diplegic Cerebral Palsy

Researchers are investigating how motor imagery ability relates to functional mobility, walking, and balance in children with diplegic cerebral palsy. This observational study uses a cross-sectional and correlational screening design to understand these relationships better, involving children diagnosed with diplegic cerebral palsy who meet specific mobility and cognitive criteria. The study involves one-on-one assessments with volunteer participants and their families after obtaining consent. Data collection includes several tools the Motor Imagery Ability Assessment using a laterality task and the Recognize Foot application, the Mental Stopwatch Paradigm comparing actual and imagined movement durations, functional mobility tests using the Functional Mobility Scale and Timed Up and Go test, and gait assessment via the Gillette Functional Assessment Questionnaire. Participants will undergo these assessments during a single session lasting 24 to 48 hours. Researchers will measure motor imagery capacity and functional mobility through these tests and questionnaires. The study aims to gather detailed information on the relationship between motor imagery and physical mobility, with no treatment or intervention administered. Participation involves completing the assessments and questionnaires as scheduled.
