What this Trial Is About
This observational study focuses on adults between 18 and 80 years old to explore if noninvasive real-time arterial waveform monitoring can help assess cardiovascular diseases, specifically aortic regurgitation and aortic stenosis. Researchers aim to determine whether photoacoustic imaging can accurately capture arterial waveforms from participants' fingers and if the waveform features reflect disease type and severity. Participants include healthy adults without cardiovascular disease and patients diagnosed with aortic regurgitation or aortic stenosis. Each participant will place their finger in a photoacoustic imaging device to noninvasively record their arterial pulse waveforms. This study does not involve any treatment or intervention but collects waveform data for analysis. During the single enrollment visit, participants will undergo photoacoustic tomography to evaluate arterial waveforms, including measurements like rise time, decay time, and dicrotic notch time. The study assesses these waveform features to detect and evaluate cardiovascular conditions. Participation involves a one-time visit with no additional follow-up, and all data are collected noninvasively.
