Who Can Participate
Eligibility Criteria
You may qualify if you...
- Adults aged 18 to 50 years
- No gastrointestinal symptoms
- No past gastrointestinal, thoracic, or spine surgery
- Not currently taking any medications
- No alcohol intake in the past month
- Non-smoker
- Normal body mass index (18.5-22.9)
You will not qualify if you...
- Diagnosed systemic or organ-specific diseases (liver, kidney, heart, neurological diseases; diabetes; hypertension; thyroid disease; connective tissue disorders; inflammatory bowel disease; irritable bowel syndrome)
- Symptoms of GERD or functional dyspepsia
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women
- Helicobacter pylori infection
