Developing and Testing a Satisfaction Questionnaire for Children Ages 7 to 17 After Surgery

This research aims to develop and validate a questionnaire to measure how satisfied children are after surgery. It focuses on pediatric patients aged 7 to 17 years who have undergone elective surgery with general anesthesia. The goal is to create a reliable tool that captures childrens feelings about their surgical experience and recovery. The study is conducted in two main steps. First, researchers interview children face-to-face to understand their satisfaction and identify common themes, which helps generate questionnaire items. Second, they evaluate the final questionnaires psychometric validity to ensure it accurately reflects childrens satisfaction levels. Participants will be assessed around the time of hospital discharge, from the day of surgery up to 14 days afterward. Researchers will measure childrens satisfaction, postoperative pain intensity, and anxiety levels during this period. The study includes questionnaires and interviews, with data collected to validate the new satisfaction tool.
