What this Trial Is About
This research aims to improve and assess a PrEP Care Continuum data dashboard across seven clinical sites in Alabama to better understand and address disparities in HIV prevention care. The project focuses on using real-time data and collaboration to visualize care gaps, allocate resources effectively, and evaluate the impact of PrEP services on preventing HIV. The main intervention is the PrOTECT AL Implementation Strategy, which includes a public website and a secure data dashboard accessible to partners. This dashboard shows clinic-specific data such as numbers of patients referred, linked, prescribed, or discontinued from PrEP within three-month periods, along with demographic filters and a PrEP coverage map. The dashboard is updated quarterly with new data and performance indicators to support practice improvements. Participants involved are providers, clinical administrators, or data managers at the seven sites. They will contribute to data collection and usage of the dashboard. The study measures include quarterly adoption rates of the dashboard from baseline up to 36 months, and public health impact assessed at multiple intervals. The study runs from early 2026 through 2030, focusing on monitoring changes in PrEP prescription patterns and coverage to evaluate the dashboard's effectiveness in HIV prevention efforts.
