Study Comparing Two Guided Surgery Methods for Dental Implant Placement in Back Teeth

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating two different static guided surgery techniques for placing dental implants in patients with partial tooth loss at the back of the mouth, known as free-end partial edentulism. The study aims to compare the accuracy of implant placement between two types of surgical splints one supported by both bone and teeth, and another supported only by teeth. This randomized, multicenter clinical trial is sponsored by Aula Dental Avanzada. Participants will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will receive dental implants using a tooth-supported surgical guide, while the other group will have implants placed with a bone and tooth-supported surgical guide. Each participant will receive two dental implants in the jaw during the procedure. The study focuses on measuring how accurately the implants are positioned using advanced scanning and planning software. During the study, researchers will monitor implant position deviations in three dimensions from the time of enrollment through the end of surgery. This will be assessed using intraoral scans and cone-beam computed tomography CBCT images. Participants cooperation and adherence to study procedures will be important. The trial will include adults aged 18 and older and is expected to conclude by March 2026.
