Collecting and Using Data from Specialist Dental Treatments Including Dental Implants to Improve Patient Care and Outcomes

This research aims to set up a database collecting detailed information from routine patient care in a specialist dental practice, focusing on dental implants. The goal is to evaluate treatment results and identify ways to improve dental care by gathering observational data and patient feedback using the Oral Health Impact Profile OHIP-14 questionnaire. This approach will help validate current and new dental treatment methods from both clinical and patient perspectives. The study involves collecting data from patients undergoing or who have undergone specialist dental treatments, especially dental implant procedures. Information will be gathered from pre-implant assessments, implant surgeries, and hygiene recall visits. Patient consent is required, and data will be anonymized and continuously updated to support various cohort and comparative studies. Participants will be adults treated at The Campbell Clinic who agree to join the study. They will complete the OHIP-14 questionnaire before and after treatment to assess satisfaction. Researchers will monitor implant survival and success over up to four years using clinical measures and patient-reported outcomes. All treatment decisions remain between the patient and clinician, with the study focusing on data collection and analysis without altering care plans.
