Study on Improving Diagnosis and Treatment for Different Types of Cardiorenal Syndrome Affecting Heart and Kidney Function

Researchers are investigating cardiorenal syndrome, a condition where injury to the heart or kidney causes dysfunction in the other organ. This syndrome has become increasingly common and complex, making treatment challenging. The study aims to understand the characteristics, causes, risk factors, and interventions across different stages of heart and kidney diseases to improve treatment approaches. Participants will be observed under guideline recommended routine treatment. The study includes patients with various types of cardiorenal syndrome classified into five subtypes based on expert consensus acute and chronic heart-related kidney injury, acute and chronic kidney-related heart injury, and secondary syndrome involving simultaneous heart and kidney dysfunction. The study focuses on these subtypes without testing new drugs or procedures. During participation, patients will be monitored for hospitalizations due to worsening kidney or heart function and all-cause deaths over one year. Additional outcomes include progression to end-stage renal disease requiring dialysis and occurrences of acute kidney injury. Researchers will collect clinical data to analyze disease progression and treatment effects. The study started in 2016 and is expected to continue until 2027, with regular follow-ups to assess health status and treatment impact.
