What this Trial Is About

This research aims to compare the immediate effects of two non-drug treatments for people experiencing non-specific sciatic nerve pain, a common type of nerve pain that affects the lower back and leg. The study focuses on understanding which therapy may better reduce pain, improve movement, and enhance daily activities. It also seeks to provide guidance for physiotherapists on choosing effective treatments by directly comparing these two approaches. Participants will be randomly divided into two groups. One group will receive the Sustained Natural Apophyseal Glide (SNAG) technique, involving gentle manual therapy combined with active movements targeting the spine. The other group will perform Sciatic Nerve Mobilization Exercises (SNME), which involve specific leg and neck movements to gently mobilize the sciatic nerve. Each participant will receive one intervention followed by evaluations, then after ten days, they will switch to the other intervention and be evaluated again. During the study, participants will undergo several assessments including pain scales, disability indexes, range of motion tests, and functional movement tests like the Sit-to-Stand and Sit and Reach tests. These evaluations will help measure changes in pain and physical function. The study is designed as a crossover trial, allowing each participant to experience both treatments with monitoring throughout, lasting about one year from the start of the study.
