What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating whether dermocosmetics containing Bioceramides and Niacinamide can improve post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and positively impact self-esteem and quality of life in Brazilian Black women with facial hyperpigmentation Fitzpatrick skin types IV to VI. The study focuses on measuring changes in hyperpigmentation severity using HASI and IGA scores, as well as assessing self-esteem and quality of life through MELASQoL and DLQI questionnaires. Participants will follow a standardized skincare routine daily for 12 weeks that includes a cleanser with 0.2% Bioceramides used twice daily, a moisturizer containing 2% Niacinamide and 1% Bioceramides applied in the morning, a serum with 5% Niacinamide and 3% Bioceramides applied at night, and an SPF 30 sunscreen applied twice daily. Study visits occur at baseline, week 6, and week 12 for clinical assessments and photography. Throughout the study, participants will undergo standardized facial photography and specialist assessments at each visit. They will also complete questionnaires on self-esteem and quality of life, and keep daily diaries to record product use and any reactions. Researchers will evaluate changes in hyperpigmentation severity and quality of life scores over the 12-week period, ensuring participant safety and monitoring adherence to the skincare regimen.
