What this Trial Is About

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common condition that impacts quality of life, psychological well-being, and relationships. Researchers are investigating how Traditional Medicine (TM) classifies ED into different syndrome patterns in Vietnamese patients. This cross-sectional observational study aims to identify the distribution of these TM syndrome patterns and explore their links with demographic details, clinical features, psychological status, and lifestyle factors to improve diagnosis and treatment. The study will recruit men aged 18 years and older diagnosed with ED at Binh Dan Hospital. Participants will provide data on their age, education, age at ED diagnosis, ED severity, erection characteristics, body mass index (BMI), psychological status assessed by the DASS-21 scale, common illnesses like hypertension and diabetes, and lifestyle habits such as smoking and alcohol use. The study will analyze how these factors relate to TM syndrome patterns. Participants will complete questionnaires and clinical assessments at enrollment. Researchers will measure TM pattern identification, ED severity using the IIEF-5 score, and collect information on psychological and lifestyle factors. The study focuses on associations between TM patterns and participant characteristics at the time of enrollment, helping to inform integrative treatment approaches. The total participation involves one-time data collection during the study period from January to August 2026.
