The Prognostic Value of Tissue Expression of Krfcppel-Like Factors 4 and 7 in Bone Tumors

This research aims to evaluate the prognostic importance of Krfcppel-like factors 4 and 7 in bone tumors, specifically in children, adolescents, and young adults diagnosed with osteosarcoma and Ewing's sarcoma. These proteins are involved in key cell functions such as growth and death, and may influence how bone diseases progress. The study is conducted in a pediatric hematology and oncology setting and follows participants over 12 months. Participants include children and young adults with confirmed localized or metastatic skeletal or extra-skeletal osteosarcoma or Ewing's sarcoma. The study involves collecting medical history, physical examination data, and radiologic images including X-rays, MRI, CT scans, and PET/CT at diagnosis and during follow-up. Tissue samples are stained for KLF factors using automated immunostaining techniques to assess their expression. During the study, researchers gather clinical and laboratory data, monitor tumor characteristics, and perform pathological assessments of tissue samples. Outcome measurements focus on the prognostic value of KLF factors over one year. Participants are followed with imaging and tests for up to two years post-therapy. The study includes 30 patients and is sponsored by Ain Shams University Children's Hospital.
