What this Trial Is About
Researchers are studying adults with unilateral ankle fractures to create and validate a Turkish version of the Ankle Fracture Outcome of Rehabilitation Measure A-FORM, called A-FORM-TR. This patient-reported questionnaire aims to better capture recovery aspects like mobility, mood, sleep, and everyday function that traditional clinical scores may miss. The study is observational and involves participants treated either surgically or conservatively.
The study involves translating and culturally adapting the original Australian A-FORM into Turkish, including forward and back translations, expert committee reviews, and patient interviews. After developing the Turkish version, 150 adults between 3 weeks and 12 months post-injury will complete the A-FORM-TR along with two established questionnaires. Around 50 participants will retake the A-FORM-TR after 7 to 14 days to examine test-retest reliability.
Participants will provide information via questionnaires during a single study visit and a follow-up visit for some. Researchers will evaluate internal consistency, reliability, structural validity, content validity, and other measurement properties using various statistical methods. Data privacy is ensured, and the study will be completed by July 2027, with safety monitoring and data retention following legal requirements.
