Urdu Translation and Validation of Revised High-Level Mobility Assessment Tool for Children Ages 5 to 12

What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying the Urdu translation and psychometric evaluation of the revised High-Level Mobility Assessment Tool HiMAT in healthy children aged 5 to 12 years. HiMAT measures high-level mobility skills, important for childrens physical performance and social opportunities. The study aims to adapt this tool for Urdu-speaking populations and assess its reliability, consistency, and item discrimination in this group. The translation process involves multiple steps forward translation by two independent Urdu native speakers, synthesis into a unified Urdu version, backward translation into English by different bilingual translators, and review by an expert committee of pediatric therapists and clinicians. A pre-final Urdu version will then be field-tested with children, and findings will be reviewed before finalizing the tool. Participants will be healthy children tested on the pre-final Urdu and English versions of HiMAT. The study will assess the tools psychometric properties over 6 months. Researchers will evaluate reliability, internal consistency, and item discrimination. The total study duration involves translation, testing, and analysis phases led by Riphah International University.
