What this Trial Is About

Researchers are evaluating the use of virtual reality glasses to reduce fetal health anxiety, prenatal distress, and improve maternal-fetal attachment in first-time pregnant women diagnosed with preterm premature rupture of membranes PPROM. This randomized controlled trial targets nulliparous pregnant women hospitalized between 24 and 37 weeks of gestation. The study aims to understand how nature-themed videos with natural sounds delivered through virtual reality may support emotional well-being during hospitalization. In this trial, 176 pregnant women will be randomly assigned to two groups an intervention group and a control group. The intervention group will watch nature-themed videos with natural sounds using virtual reality glasses twice daily for at least five minutes each session over three consecutive days. The control group will receive the hospitals standard prenatal care. After the study, control group participants may choose to watch the nature-themed videos via virtual reality glasses. Participants will provide information through questionnaires including the Fetal Health Anxiety Scale, Prenatal Distress Questionnaire, and Prenatal Attachment Inventory. Researchers will compare scores before and after the intervention over six months. Assessments include sociodemographic data and emotional health measures. The study monitors participants during hospitalization for at least three days, focusing on supportive care outcomes related to anxiety, distress, and attachment during pregnancy.
