What this Trial Is About

Researchers are studying patients who have or are suspected to have thyroid nodules or thyroid cancer to improve the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions. The study includes both adults and children and aims to better understand thyroid tumors using established care methods along with new techniques as they develop. Blood and tissue samples will be collected for research and genetic studies to deepen knowledge about thyroid cancer and nodules. Participants may undergo standard medical procedures such as diagnostic imaging, fine needle aspiration biopsy, surgery, radioiodine scanning or therapy, and ongoing monitoring with tumor markers and imaging. The study also evaluates the usefulness of serum thyroglobulin testing for detecting tumor recurrence and examines individualized radioiodine treatment approaches. Research samples from benign and cancerous thyroid tissues will be gathered to support various laboratory analyses related to thyroid tumor diagnosis, progression, and therapy. Throughout the study, participants will have blood and urine collected in different thyroid function states for research purposes, alongside routine clinical care assessments. The primary measurements focus on evaluating thyroid cancer and thyroid disorders as clinically indicated. The study involves close monitoring of thyroid tumors and thyroid function effects on the body, with sample collection and data used to answer important research questions about thyroid tumor biology and treatment.
